Expoforum: Kosovo and Albania discuss common strategic projects

Prishtina, 29 June - Expoforum “New means of funding common strategic projects Kosovo-Albania” gathered today in Prishtina representatives of Kosovo and Albania institutions, companies from the country and abroad, as well as donors, to discuss on strategic objectives of both countries and on means for funding common projects.

Expoforum was held in Hotel Emerald in Prishtina, and co-organized by Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Diaspora, and Ministry of Trade and Industry of Republic of Kosovo, and Ministry of Energy and Industry of Republic of Albania and Konfindustria. The activity was supported by the Finnish Embassy in Prishtina and DEED (Diaspora Engagement for Economic Development).

Expoforum attendants were able to visit the mini-fair of local and diaspora producers, and get acquainted with services provided by public companies, which represented a good opportunity to promote their economic activity and establish business contacts.

Line-ministers from Kosovo and Albania initially discussed on current economic developments, common projects and funding opportunities, including donor and private capital involvement.

Further, representatives of institutions from both countries presented their strategic projects in the sector of natural resources in Kosovo and Albania, focusing on energy, mining and transport.

The forum will result with conclusions on possibilities offered by the sector, steps to be undertaken by institutions towards its stimulation and the role of the private sector in its development, all geared towards economic development and provision of new employment possibilities.
